The postmodern perspective of psychology is an overarching influence in my practice. This means that I believe clients hold expert knowledge of themselves and that therapy should be a transparent, egalitarian, and collaborative process. First and foremost, I believe that therapy needs to provide you with a place where you can feel understood and respected as you move towards healing and personal growth.
Together, we will co-create what the specifics of therapy will look like. We may take an explorative and fluid approach or we may take a more structured approach that involves concrete goals and homework.
I utilize a range of evidence-based approaches. Examples include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) therapy.
I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Seattle and I am a licensed mental health counselor. I completed dual doctoral internships at the Fremont Community Therapy Project and at Ryther Child Center, Seattle. In addition, I have received doctoral-level specialized training in therapeutic issues for Third Culture Kids (TCKs) through the independent studies program at Antioch University, Seattle. Please feel free to ask me any additional questions you may have about my training, experience, or credentials.
